Gratitude for Salvation

This prayer was inspired by John 8:58…

58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

Heavenly Father — You are the great I AM, yet You have time for me. You know me and all my failings, yet You still love me and have saved me!

I am so amazed, so in awe of Your love and the way You care for me and love and comfort me. You’re everything I ever wanted, and all I ever needed.

Thank You Lord, for bringing me into relationship with You. Thank You for blessing me. Thank You for saving me. Thank You for using me in service to Your kingdom and Your world, and Your people.

Any little thing I can do for You, in thanks to You for the great blessing of salvation, let me do it. Guide me, Lord. Your grace guides and comforts me. Thank You for that precious grace.

In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Do we all remember the day we gave our lives to Jesus Christ? That wonderful day of decision, the moment of realization that we’ve finally found someone in this chaotic world who we can trust and rely on?

For me, that day came in the summer of 2013, only two weeks after I moved to Idaho. I already owned this website at that time, but I posted prayers from a variety of religions. I didn’t plan on becoming a Christian, but I believed in God.

I’d just left a painful relationship and had downsized considerably – giving away many of the things I considered most precious including my grandparents’ furniture and most of my book collection. When I moved to Idaho, I was empty and had lost the ability to feel emotions because of the stress I’d been through.

Two weeks later, the Lord led me into a church and suggested this was a good day to be saved, so I surrendered my life to Jesus. After a life of pain and heartache, insecurity and unhappiness, distress and sorrow, I found Jesus, and He sealed the Holy Spirit into my heart.

This has been the most amazing journey. The past three and a half years have been the happiest of my life. Jesus is the greatest healer the world has ever known. He comforts the brokenhearted, and my heart qualified! He surrounded me with wonderful friends and taught me to read my Bible (our spiritual food) every morning.

The prayer I wrote today comes from a huge pool of gratitude that has been with me ever since.

I hope you’re having a happy day.
